DCC Blog Hop: Patriotic Candle Sleeve
The Designers Craft Connection Blog Hop theme for this month is “Patriotic”
So I created this “Patriotic” Quick and Easy Candle Sleeve with Makin’s Clay®…
Makin’s Star Cutters
Makin’s Clay Roller
Beacon’s Quick Grip Glue
Red Pillar Candle
Instructions:
Roll out blue clay with the clay roller to about 1/8″ place texture sheet on top and roll with clay roller to create texture. Use star cutter and cut out 8 stars; let dry. Repeat with white clay. Overlap blue stars over white stars gluing in place with Beacon’s Quick Grip Glue; hold for just a few seconds for it to bond. I used 16 stars for a 3″ pillar candle you may have to use more or less depending upon the size of your candle.
DIY: Studio Curtains with Velcro® Brand
I finally have curtains up in my studio…nearly 2 years after I got my studio moved and set up I found what I was looking for to make curtains!
I had looked everywhere for curtains but just could not find any that would fit the windows (or that I liked), so I knew I would have to make them…I came across a bolt of fabric at JoAnn’s on clearance for $12, it had 16 yards of fabric on it and was just what I was looking for! Something light and airy not to cover the windows but to dress them up!
DIY: Changeable Candle Holder with Velcro® Brand
Candles are always the perfect accent but the cost of candle holders can add up quickly especially when you do a lot of decorating, which is why this changeable candle holder is a great solution.
Why not buy the candle holders once and use Velcro Brand Adhesives to make Quick Changeable Candle Holders…There are a variety of Velcro Brand Adhesives to choose from to make these.
DIY: Create A Ring with Options
By using one Ring Base, an Assortment of Buttons, Flowers & Gems and Velcro Brand Fasteners you have a DIY “Ring with Options”!
I used Velcro Brand Press and Close Fasteners for this DIY Ring with Options as they are super thin and strong….
Beauty Bloom Die Creates Beautiful Flowers….
This week’s Blog Hop features Beauty Bloom Flower die by Brenda Pinnick and I created Beautiful Flowers for accessories.
Flowers are in fashion right now so I found this to be the perfect die to use to make…
Graduation Centerpiece with Sizzix Twist Cube
Triple Play Week 2 Features Karen Buniston’s TWIST Cube Die from which I created a Graduation Centerpiece.
I had never worked with a POP-UP Die so was not sure what to expect…Several ideas for projects came to mind once I started to play…and this is what I came up with
And they truly do fold down flat…The announcements that would be mailed out would not have the top piece added, I would make graduation hats from card stock and a tassel with fibers so they would be mailable! My youngest is graduating this year so I think I will be playing with the TWIST Cube Die a lot in the next few months!
Sizzix Triple Play Clay House
It is time again for the SIZZIX BLOG HOP this time with a twist….it is a “TRIPLE PLAY BLOG HOP” and I created a Clay House.
Triple because we will be featuring dies from 3 Sizzix Die Artists: Eileen Hull creator of the Sizzix Blog Hop and the fabulous Sizzix ScoreBoards, Karen Burniston creator of the “Pop-up Die” and Brenda Pinnick.
Play because there will be 60 (or so) fabulous designers’ versions of each die on the Blog Hop! I am honored to be one of those designers!
