Hello and thank you for stopping by the Ann Butler Designs blog today. Tammy Santana here with a fun shaker greeting card tutorial using Ann Butler Designs Crafting Inks and Ann Butler Designs 1″ Faux Quilting Stamps. As you can see, I love to create fun projects with bright and bold colors and this Summertime greeting card was so easy to make and embellish with Ann’s fun to use products!
Supplies I used:
- Ann Butler Designs Faux Quilting Stamps
- Ann Butler Designs Crafter’s Inks by Clear Snap
- Pink and orange card stock
- Silhouette machine and greeting card cutting file
- Glitter
- Adhesive tape runner and adhesive foam tape
Directions:
I used my Silhouette machine to cut out a Silhouette Design Store greeting card file from both orange and pink card stock
I removed the back portion of the pink card leaving the decorative front to stamp. I used Ann Butler Designs Faux Quilting Stamps and Ann Butler Designs Crafter’s Inks to stamp a fun pattern on the card for some cute and unique decoration.
I heat sealed the ink with my heat tool. Then, I ran the pink stamped card front through my Xyron machine to create a sticker.
I adhered the pink card front to a piece of acetate trimmed to fit the card.
I turned the card over and placed thin foam tape strips around the perimeter, to allow enough height to hold glitter, to create a shaker card. Next, I removed the tape backing to expose the double sided tape before carefully adding the glitter, using a piece of paper that I folded in half, to create a funnel.
Next, I added a second layer of acetate on top of the double sided tape to create the shaker card overlay. I used an adhesive tape runner on the pink areas on the back of the card and then turned it over and placed it on top of the orange card base.
I really love how the glitter looks with the faux quilting stamped on the card. It really adds interest to what would have been a cute, but plain card. I hope this gives you some inspiration to create some fun and unique greeting cards with Ann Butler Designs Faux Quilting Stamps and Ann Butler Designs Crafter’s Inks!
