Hey, crafty friends, Einat Kessler here with another project! I don’t know where you live, but here, spring has arrived in all its glory. Everything is blooming, the sun is shining and the days are getting longer. So I’m in the mood of flowers and I came up with a really cute way of creating flowers and reusing metal wires.
I love to use paper flowers in my projects. The kind that, come, with a metal wire. I simply cut them and use only the flowers and usually I throw away the wires. Then, I started thinking why not make new flowers to attach to the wires?
I started by stamping on a white piece of cardstock with Ann ButlerDesigns Background Basics Stamps by Clearsnap. I used bright happy colors of Ann Butler Designs Crafter’s Ink such as Tangelo, Berry and Canyon. To tell you the truth I don’t clean my stamps in between stamping so all the colors blend together and I get really pretty colorful effects.
After the ink was dry I punched out four 1″ circles from each background stamped image and folded them in half. Then I attached each circle to another circle creating a 3D lollipop. Each lollipop flower was created from four circles and before attaching the fourth circle I attached the metal wire, creating a sandwich with the papers. Then I stamped some Ann Butler Design Faux Quilting stamps on the white cardstock with Ann Butler Designs Crafter’s ink in LimeLight and then, cut out leafs. I attached the leafs to the wire as well.
If you want to create bigger flowers just use a larger punch. You can use a scalloped punch for even more beautiful edges. Use wooden skewers for stems and create a spring buke of lovely lollipop flowers to decorate your table or window.
Have fun creating!
Einat
