Hi, everyone! Today, I’m sharing a fun “I Love You” -I ♥ U card. I happened to be looking through my fabric scraps recently and saw a piece that screamed ‘Ann Butler Designs colors.
Supplies:
Ann Butler Designs Iridescents Paint in Lilac
Ann Butler Designs Colorbox™ Crafter’s Ink in Limelight, Lilac, and Blueberry
Ann Butler Designs Colorbox™ Art Screen Lattice
EZ De’s Design Elements for Stamping by Ann Butler Designs – 2″ Checkered Woven Hearts
EZ De’s Design Elements for Stamping by Ann Butler Designs- 1″ Rail Fence Set
Ann Butler Designs Faux Quilting Stamps from Unity Stamp Co – Leaves all Over
White cardstock, Fabric, Felt die cut letters, Ribbon, foam brush, sponges, adhesive
Instructions:
-Apply Iridescents Paint in lilac, using a foam brush randomly on the base of the card.
-Using the 1″ Leaves all Over Faux Quilting stamp set/horizontal stripe stamp and stamped a partial border across the top of the card with limelight ink pad.
-Using Crafter’s ink in Blueberry, I sponged the Art Screen in Lattice diagonally across the right side of the card. Next, I used the 1″ heart from the 1″ Rail Fence Set and stamped in Blueberry ink across the bottom of the card. I then used the 2″ solid block from the 2″ Checkered Woven Heart Set. I used both Lilac and Blueberry ink, alternating stamping random blocks on the card. Immediately after stamping each block, I used a sponge to smear the image a bit. I did this three or four times until I got the desired look I was going for.
– Next, I placed the strip of ribbon across the bottom of the card above heart border. I used sponges to apply each of the inks across the ribbon to mute the brightness of the original color.
-As mentioned earlier, the reason for the colors I chose was the piece of fabric in the pic below. I started by free hand cutting a heart from the fabric and then fray the edges slightly. Using a sponge, I applied all 3 of the inks (limelight, lilac, blueberry) I chose for this project. I next chose two felt letters – I and U to go on each side of the heart. These letters were a pretty bright lime green – too bright for the look. Using the stripe stamp from the 1″ Leaves all Over Faux Quilting stamp set, and the blueberry ink, I stamped diagonally and then used the ink to edge the border of the letters.
I adhered the fabric and letters on the card, added a little more ink around the edges of the card and that’s it! I hope you enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by!
