Do you have a favorite photo you would love to see smiling at you everyday? Make this cute fridge magnet to show off a favorite photo.
It’s getting close to Christmas and I am already thinking of fun gifts to give to the grandparents. At this stage they have everything so I usually focus on photos of the kids and granddaughter. They really seem to appreciate those.
Step 1:
Use your favorite pattern from the Stitch Stamps by Ann Butler to stamp around the outer edge of the acrylic. I like to put a mask in the center of the acrylic so I don’t accidentally get ink on it. For this project you will need a solvent ink since the acrylic is a non porous surface.
Step 2:
Ink the edges of your background paper and add that and your photo to the lower half of the frame. I like the look of a very thin photo mat for projects like these and here I used a plain white cardstock. Cut a piece of magnet sheet a little bit smaller than the background paper. Adhere it to the back of the project so that it does not show from the front.
Step 3:
A low temp glue gun is the perfect thing to add a nice bow to the corner of the frame. Be sure it is only on the fornt and does not hang over the back. ; this would interfere with the magnet.
Step 4:
To finish your project off add some sticker embellishments in the area above the photo. These are from a set that I used for another project and had a few left over. To make my small stickers “pop” I like to outline them with a very thin black pen. It really makes them stand out!
Wrap in pretty tissue paper and it is ready for gift giving this holiday season.
