Craft Quick and Easy Memo Holders
It is time to Craft up some Handmade Gifts to have on hand for a small birthday gift, a thank you or a just because gift…and memo holders were on the list!
Craft these Quick and Easy Memo Holders as they are are great gifts to have on hand. I used the Memo Holder Scoreboard Die that my friend designerEileen Hull created for Sizzix and Velcro® Brand Press & Close Fasteners.
I chose some fabric and decoupaged it onto the front and back of matboard before die cutting it.
I placed two Press and Close Fasteners on the inside of the memo holder.
Then placed a post it note pad on top of the Press & Close Fasteners which will help to hold it in place.
I used Velcro® Brand Mini Fasteners to stack the flower pieces.
Then I attached a Press and Close Fastener to the back of the flower and placed in onto the front of the memo holder…
which makes it easy to open and close….
Here is a side view of the memo holder…Quick and Easy!
DIY No-Sew Changeable Purse
Make a DIY No-Sew Changeable Purse Quickly & Easyly with Velcro® Brand Fasteners and great Trims from Expo International!
To make this DIY No Sew Changeable Purse start with a pre-made purse or denim pocket; I used a denim one. Expo International has some great trims and Velcro® Brand Press and Close Fasteners make this DIY No-Sew Changeable Purse.
I used Non- Stick Scissors by Wescott to cut the 3/4″ Press and Close Fasteners that I had in half since some of the trims I was using was narrower than 3/4″. I placed hook side of the Press and Close Fasteners onto the purse around the edge where I wanted the trim to be.
I placed the loop side of the Press and Close Fasteners onto the trim.
Then, pressed the trim in place on the purse.
I cut more of the 3/4″ Press and Close Fasteners in half and placed loo[ side on this white trim so I am able to change out the purse Quick and Easy.
This purse can now be changed out Quickly and Easyly with an assortment of trims that have the loop side of the Press and Close Fasteners attached. How cool is that…..

Makin’s Memory Frame with Velcro® Brand Fasteners
Makin’s Clay has these great Memory Frames which I knew would be a perfect gift to make for my daughter…and my new Grandson!
While this project is not complete…I want to show you how the process of creating a Memory Frame and how Velcro Brand Adhesive makes it easy to finish when the time is right!
There are several Memory Frames to choose from I choose the Double Turning Frame
Each kit comes with a package of Makin No Bake Polymer Clay so that you are able to capture a foot print, hand print or to create something for the frame. First I rolled out the clay…
I used footprint rubber stamps to create temporary footprints for the Memory Frame, as Jaxson is only a month old; I will take his foot impressions when he is about 3 months old and his feet are just a bit stronger, to be pressed for a good impression.
These are small so there is enough leftover clay to use for the real foot impressions, just be sure to keep the leftover clay in a zip lock bag to keep it from drying out.
Let these dry completely which can take about 48 hours depending upon thickness.
Once dry I used Velcro Brand Press and Close Fasteners on the back of the clay impressions.
and also on the fabric which I used as a backdrop in the frame. By using the Velcro Brand Adhesive it will be easy to change out the rubber stamped impressions for the real ones once they are made!
Here are two sides of the frame, if you follow my blog you may recognize that the lettering and background match the curtains and boarder I made for the nursery . The letters here were made from left over Donald Duck pictures I had.
Here is another way the frame can look, the picture side is not finished yet, since it in a shadow box, I want to find a small Donald Duck to put in there at the bottom to go with the theme of the nursery.
Here is another way the frame can go, of course the real footprints will take up a bit more room than these which will fill up this side of the shadow box better.
Here is another way the frame can go.
This photo shows how easy it is for the frame to turn. These make great gifts….check them out!
DIY: Wearable ART Tie Dye T-Shirt
Callie (my 17 year old daughter) did a Wearable ART Tie Dye T-Shirt demonstration at our local JoAnn’s using Simply Spray and liked it so much that she bought some to bring home and do some shirts for herself.
Wearable ART is so much fun! Here is how she created a Tie Dye T-Shirt with Simply Spray. It is so quick and easy…check it out!
First of all she laid out plastic to cover her work surface with newspaper on top.
She twisted her tee and sprayed yellow first.
Then she opened it and twisted again….
to spray pink.
Then she opened it up and twisted in the opposite direction and sprayed the yellow and did the same for the pink. The shirt turned out great! She repeated the same for the back side of the shirt.

Roll out blue clay with the clay roller to about 1/8″ place texture sheet on top and roll with clay roller to create texture. Use star cutter and cut out 8 stars; let dry. Repeat with white clay. Overlap blue stars over white stars gluing in place with Beacon’s Quick Grip Glue; hold for just a few seconds for it to bond. I used 16 stars for a 3″ pillar candle you may have to use more or less depending upon the size of your candle.

DIY: Studio Curtains with Velcro® Brand
I finally have curtains up in my studio…nearly 2 years after I got my studio moved and set up I found what I was looking for to make curtains!
I had looked everywhere for curtains but just could not find any that would fit the windows (or that I liked), so I knew I would have to make them…I came across a bolt of fabric at JoAnn’s on clearance for $12, it had 16 yards of fabric on it and was just what I was looking for! Something light and airy not to cover the windows but to dress them up!
Here is what they looked like before!
This is after!
Just a little Window Dressing but I love how they turned out! They are like window scarfs….
I used Velcro Brand White Tak Putty….
To attach them to the top of the window frame and keep them in place….
I put bows in the corners but also wanted these to be changeable…as I want to make some flowers for the corners also.
The easiest way to make them changeable is to use Velcro Brand Adhesives….for these I decided to try the Snag Free Sew-On which has hook and loop in one.
It is so cool because it is a one-piece design that resists snagging and lint buildup. Which is perfect for this delicate fabric and since they are in my studio having something that will prevent lint buildup….is a great idea!
I just cut 2 pieces the same size and sewed one to the bow and one onto the curtain…now when I want to make the flowers I can just cut another piece the same size and sew to the flowers…and not worry about if I need the hook or loop side since the Snag Free has both!
DIY: Changeable Candle Holder with Velcro® Brand
Candles are always the perfect accent but the cost of candle holders can add up quickly especially when you do a lot of decorating, which is why this changeable candle holder is a great solution.
Why not buy the candle holders once and use Velcro Brand Adhesives to make Quick Changeable Candle Holders…There are a variety of Velcro Brand Adhesives to choose from to make these.
Above is a tea light candle holder; gems are attached with Velcro Brand Adhesives.
The gems were removed and this trim was added with flat back beads.
Then the trim was taken off and ribbon replaced it.
One side of the Velcro Brand Adhesive stays on the candle holder and the other side is on the gems, trim, ribbon or anything else you choose to decorate with making these Quick Change Candle Holders Quick and Easy!
