My Friend Quilted Cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using Ann Butler Designs Background stamps and Crafter’s Inks . I’ve used two different triangular shaped stamps for My Friend Quilted Cards.

I chose to create this card with the Basket 2 Background Basics Stamp and Canyon Crafter’s Ink. It’s hard to see, but in the white sections between the stamped images, I scored diagonal lines. It’s easy to line up the stamps so they fit within a square and just score between them. Once stamped, I inked the edges with Canyon Crafter’s Ink, matted it with red cardstock and then tied a ribbon around the panel before adhering it to the card.

For my next card, I stamped the Picnic 2 Background Basics Stamp with Berry Crafter’s Ink. Then I cut apart the stamped panels and inked them before arranging them on a panel of pink and then sewing them in place. I wrapped ribbon around the panel before adhering it to the card. (The ribbon is pink, NOT purple as it appears in this photo! No matter how many times I photograph it, it still appears purple!)

Both cards have the same stamped flower image which was colored with Sunshine and Limelight Crafter’s Inks using a paint brush and a little water. The images were fussy cut and then inked with Desert Sand Crafter’s Ink before adding them to die cut circles. A simple sentiment was attached to the ribbons with a paper tagger.

These background stamps are lovely and since they come in 3″ squares as well as triangles, the possibilities are endless.

Iridescent Bangle Bracelet

First, paint a wooden bangle bracelet with Amethyst Iridescents. Then allow to dry thoroughly.

Using Molding Paste and ColorBox Art Screens by Ann Butler – Stars Art Screen – add stars randomly about the bracelet.

While still wet, sprinkle Pearl Iridescent Powder over the Molding Paste.

Allow to dry completely before removing the excess powder. Once dry, use a small paint brush to brush away the excess powder.

There you have it – a beautiful wood bangle bracelet that anyone would love to wear.

New Home Décor – Welcome Sign

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using Ann Butler Designs Iridescents from Earth Safe Finishes™ to create a new home décor – Welcome Sign.

I wanted to create a pretty, but rustic looking, home décor project. I first began by painting a wood sign with Sheer Copper Iridescents along the top and Pearl Iridescents along the sides. Once dry, I added a bit of texture using the Basket1 Stamp from ColorBox® Background Basics by Ann Butler Designs which I also painted with Sheer Copper Iridescents. I repeatedly painted and stamped the board until it was covered.

I wanted large letters on the sign so I lined Ann Butler Designs Flourish stamps from Kellycraft on the panel. Then I inked the stamps with Deep Woods Colorbox Crafter’s Ink®, then embossed with clear embossing powder.

A number of flowers were painted with a combination of Sheer Copper and Pearl Iridescents, assembled and then adhered to the board.

To finish my home décor project, I placed rhinestone swirls about the flowers.

Background Basics Mini Card Set

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a quick and easy Background Basics Mini Card Set.

Gather up some cardstock, flowers, brads, punches as well as Ann Butler Designs Stamps and Inks from Clearsnap and these cards come together in less than 30 minutes.

Ann Butler’s new foam stamps from Clearsnap come in 3″ square and 3″ triangles and 4 different styles.

Using Ann Butler’s Crafter’s Ink in Aquamarine, Canyon and Blueberry, I stamped three different faux quilting stamps on white cardstock. I cut around them leaving a little border which I then inked with the same color used on the stamps.

I cut cardstock 3 1/2″ x 7″ and folded to create 3 1/2″ square cards. The stamped panels were centered on the cards. Flowers were added to the corner and the sentiment were stamped with the same color as the quilted pattern.

I’m thinking of making several more of these cards and giving them as gifts. What do you think?

Burlap “Just Saying Hello” Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a Burlap “Just Saying Hello” Card using Ann Butler Designs Iridescents and Crafter’s Ink.

The colors are gorgeous and can be used with your fingers or a paint brush.

I recently found some printed burlap and decided to see how the Iridescents would work on the burlap.

Using Aquamarine, Limelight, Sheer Copper and Sheer Silver Iridescents, I painted each flower.

I frayed the burlap panel and adhered it to cardstock panels using brads. A little touch of ColorBox Crafter’s Ink by Ann Butler in Limelight was added around the panels and the edges of the card. I added a simple sentiment in the upper left corner.

I also came across a burlap bird clip so I decided to paint him with Aquamarine Iridescents. For his stand, I used Limelight Iridescents.

The sentiment was added to the clip and can easily be changed out.

Create ART Iridescents Canvas Panel

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a Create ART Iridescents Canvas Panel.

This fabulous product comes in some amazing colors of Ann Butler’s Iridescents. I used Aquamarine, Limelight, Sheer Copper, and Berry.

I placed a large flourish sticker on a canvas panel to use as a mask.

I used a foam brush to add assorted colors of Iridescents across the panel, gently mixing the colors where they met. The Iridescents stay wet for an extended period so you have time to more the colors around the panel.

Spritz some water on the panel.

Using a paper towel, gently pat the panel until some of the Iridescents are removed. Gently remove the sticker.

Punch circles and ink the edges with assorted Iridescents. Spell out create art with stickers and add to the canvas panel with foam adhesives for dimension.

I hope you try some Iridescents, you will love them.

I Love You Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with roses for you.

I began by painting a white cardstock panel with Aquamarine Iridescents using my finger for a random effect. I then stamped the Dots stamp from Unity Stamp Co.’s 1″ Stripes, Dots and Hearts stamp set randomly on the panel with Lilac Crafter’s Ink.

After matting the panel with black cardstock and adding it to card, I inked the tips of little white roses with Berry Crafter’s Ink. I found some coordinating ribbon which I tied around the stems before adding the roses to the card.

The sentiment was stamped and then added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension. I then added some bling to finish the card.

Hello Stenciled Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today saying hello.

I’ve used ColorBox Crafter’s Ink for Ann Butler in Sunshine, Limelight and Tangelo with several stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop.

With the stencil in place, I used art daubers to add color to the design.Once I inked the design, I inked around the panel with Sunshine Ink and matted it with brown cardstock. I also inked around the card with Sunshine Ink. Using a second stencil with Tangelo Ink, I fussy cut hello, matted it with brown cardstock and added it to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Fabulous Mixed Media Stenciled Canvas

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using Ann Butler’s new inks and stencils to create a canvas.

Using Ann Butler’s hexagon stamps, I stamped a canvas panel, but I really didn’t like what I created. Because the inks stays moist for an extended period, I used a baby wipe to mix the colors and designs on the canvas.

Then I used the new Lattice Art Screen with Evergreen Crafter’s Ink to add a design on the bottom of the canvas.

Next, I covered the panel with tissue paper, creating dimension. Once the glue dried, I put several drops of Crafter’s Ink Reinkers into mini misters and spritzed about the canvas. I used Limelight, Berry and Tangelo Reinkers. Once dry, I inked the tissue with Sunshine Crafters Ink.

The flowers were stamped with Unity’s 2″ Stripes, Dots, Hearts stamps and Berry Ink. The chipboard dress form was also inked with Berry Ink and the flowers were used to dress the dress form with brads. The oval beneath the dress form was stamped with Unity’s 2″ Leaves All Over stamps and Sunshine Ink. This was then mounted on a scalloped oval that was also inked with Berry Ink.

Fabulous was die cut from beige and white cardstock. The white layer was stamped with 1″ Leaves All Over with Sunshine Ink.

Stenciled Christmas Cards and Gift Bag

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using Ann Butler’s new inks and stencils. If you play around a bit you’ll find lots of ways to use the inked stencil in assorted ways.

Using the new Stars Art Screen, I placed it on the canvas bag then inked it with Evergreen and Canyon Crafter’s Ink using an art dauber.

Hating to waste the left over ink on the stencil, I placed a sheet of white cardstock on top and rolled over it with the ColorBox Art Wheel. I got the negative image on the left as my second generation inking. There was still ink on the stencil so I placed a baby wipe on top of the stencil to pick up the remaining ink. I placed the baby wipe on a piece of white cardstock and gently rubbed to remove the color – the image on the right is the third generation inking.

The second generation inking was used to create this card. You can still see the pattern, and it appears larger because it is the negative image. The other elements on the card are Clearsnap’s Design Adhesives and Designer Foils.

This card uses the third generation inking with the baby wipe. The pattern is less visible, and appears almost water colored. It’s the perfect backdrop for a die cut Christmas tree.

So next time you have ink remaining on your stencils, play around with it and see what else you can create.
