Flip Cards using Crafter’s Inks

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here with a set of Flip Cards using Ann Butler’s Crafter’s Inks.

Step 1

Stamp and die cut all elements.

Step 2

Using a water brush, paint all die cut elements with assorted colors of Crafter’s Inks.

Step 3

Paint Berry Ink on the roses. Allow to dry then paint on some Canyon Ink to add a bit of definition.

Step 4

Create the first flip card from peach card stock. Die cut the internal layers from card stock and pattern papers. As the green layer has die cut tabs, fold the tabs and adhere the painted elements on the tabs.

Step 5

Create a second flip card from green card stock. Die cut the internal layers from pattern paper and card stock. As the pattern paper layer has die cut tabs, fold the tabs and adhere the painted elements on the tabs, overlapping as necessary. Add dew drops to the flower centers.

Step 6

To finish the cards, add a die cut green panel on the peach card and place pattern paper on top. On the green card, cut pattern paper and peach card stock strips to fit. Stamp the sentiments using Deep Woods Ink. Die cut 3 layers and place on top of the strips.

DIY Pink-a-licious Door Hanger

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here with a DIY Pink-a-licious Door Hanger. What little girl wouldn’t love to have her own pink-a-licious door hanger?

Step 1:

I started with a chipboard shaped door hanger in a dingy color and painted Gesso over the chipboard. I wanted the final colors to really stand out and Gesso would allow me to do that.

Step 2:

I dabbed Berry Crafter’s Ink on the door hanger, then used a baby wipe to blend the ink until the door hanger was covered.

Step 3:

Using the Basket 1 stamp with Canyon Crafter’s Ink, I repeatedly stamped it on the door hanger.

Step 4:

Using Evergreen and Deep Woods Crafter’s Inks, I randomly swiped the ink pads onto white card stock.

Step 5:

Once dry, I die cut the leaf spray. I also die cut the scalloped circle that fit the door hanger opening.

Step 6:

The flowers were first inked with Berry Crafter’s Ink and then spritzed with water so the ink would spread into the flowers.

Step 7:

Using Beacon Adhesives Tacky Glue, I adhered the leaf spray and layered the flowers on top.

Step 8:

I also adhered the flowers around the opening.

This is such a sweet project to create and beautifully done with Ann Butler Crafter’s Inks by Clearsnap.

Painting with Crafter’s Ink Oh So Easy

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here, with a sweet Spring Card that I created by painting with Crafter’s ink. It’s so easy to color die cut images with Ann Butler’s Crafter’s Inks because the ink is quite fluid and you can use a water brush to pick up the color and add it where you need it.

Let’s get started Painting with Crafter’s Ink!

Step 1:

I began by die cutting the birdhouses from white card stock two times.

Step 2:

I cut apart the dies, knowing I wanted the birdhouses to be different colors and I wanted the grass to be two toned. So, I used a water brush and added color to the dies with Crafter’s ink in Limelight, Deep Woods, Tangelo, Sunshine, Blueberry and Desert Sand. Since I planned to reassemble the dies, I wasn’t too concerned about over coloring on the base layer. I allowed the layers to dry, then I reassembled the design.

Step 3:

I wanted to keep the background simple, so I used a water brush with Blueberry Ink to lightly added the color directly on the card. I wanted a white washed effect so I used more water than ink. I did the same with Deep Woods Ink along the bottom of the card. Finally I used Blueberry Ink to ink around the edges of the card. Once the card dried, I then added the reassembled birdhouse die to the card.

Step 4:

As a final decorative element, and dimension I added dew drops to some of the flowers.

A Sweet Embossed Card for Mom

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a sweet embossed card for Mom. This card would be wonderful for her birthday, for Mother’s Day or perhaps for no reason at all. Who doesn’t love to receive a card in the mail?

Step 1:

Paint glossy card stock randomly with Limelight and Sheer Copper Iridescents. Once dry, emboss the panel with a Sizzix embossing folder. Lightly ink over the embossed portions with Tangelo and Limelight Crafter’s Inks to highlight the embossing. Next, mat the panel with black and kraft card stock.

Step 2:

Wrap the panel with a ribbon then, adhere the panel to the card.

Step 3:

Using Spellbinder dies, die cut 2 ovals. Stamp and emboss the sentiment on the smaller oval. Paint the larger oval with Sheer Copper Iridescents to coordinate with the card and allow it to dry.

Step 4:

Mat the 2 ovals with a larger kraft oval and add to the card with foam adhesives for dimension. Finally, tie twine around the ribbon.

Cute Happy Easter Card

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today with a Cute Happy Easter Card using Ann Butler’s Crafter’s Inks.

To create the Easter card background I used the reverse side of a stencil that had been inked with Blueberry Crafter’s Ink. I flipped it over onto a panel of white cardstock, then used a baby wipe to transfer the ink to cardstock.

I stamped the Easter Eggs with Crafter’s Ink, then used a water brush to pick up assorted colors of Ann Butler’s Crafter’s Ink to paint the eggs.

As I stamped and colored 3 Easter Eggs, I fussy cut one egg and placed it on top the other. Happy Easter was stamped on the card and “peeps” was inserted under the eggs.

I created a card from blue cardstock, then added the panel to the card. I scored a line above and below the panel for more dimension.

Stamped Easter Gift Bags

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today with some Stamped Easter Gift Bags. Using Crafter’s Inks, you can easily create on non-traditional surfaces.

Crafter’s Inks work on multiple surfaces including fabric and glossy papers.

Using Crafter’s Ink, I stamped the Easter Chick in the center of a canvas bag. Next, I used a paint brush to pick up assorted ink colors to paint the egg. Using 1″ faux quilting stamps, I stamped the image around the edges of the canvas bag with Berry Ink. Finally, I added dew drops to the center of the flowers.

I also used assorted Crafter’s Ink to repeatedly stamp Happy Easter on a glassine bag. Ink usually smears on glassine bags, but with Crafter’s Ink, no smearing or smudging occurs. While waiting for the inks to dry, I stamped the Easter Chick on white cardstock, then die cut it. Again, I used a paint brush with Crafter’s Inks to color the egg, then placed it atop a die cut oval before adhering it to the glassine bag.

Embossed Rose Card and coordinating Tag

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with an embossed rose card and coordinating tag.

Ann Butler’s Colorbox Crafter’s Inks are made to work on most surfaces. They work extremely well on fabric, plastic, glossy papers and more.

Using an embossing folder, I placed Berry, Aquamarine, Tangelo and Limelight Crafter’s Ink directly onto the embossing folder.

Next, place a sheet of glossy cardstock in the embossing folder. The colors are extremely vibrant.

Once embossed, remove the glossy cardstock.

Since ink still remains, on the embossing folder, place 2 smaller sheets of cardstock inside and emboss them to get a second generation print.

Look at the gorgeous colors! The glossy cardstock is more vibrant than the cardstock panels.

Don’t you love the debossed effect? The colors are embedded in the cardstock panels and really bring the roses to life. Wrap the panel with ribbon. Stamp and emboss the sentiment. Die cut and add to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Using the smaller cardstock pieces, lightly ink the edges then mat them with cardstock. Create a tag from blue cardstock and add the smaller panels. Stamp and emboss the sentiment then die cut it

Add to a larger die and adhere to the tag.

You can see how different the embossed rose card and coordinating tag look with the different papers used.

Thank You Cards Quick and Easy

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with several Thank You Cards. Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to create Thank You cards for all those individuals you wish to thank for something they did this holiday season.

Do you have days where you want to create, but just don’t have the time? Then just think quick and simple. If you are like me, you probably have an assortment of stamps, inks, flowers and scraps of cardstock (among other things) on your craft table left over from holiday creating. Rather than put these items away, use them to create some new cards.

For card #1, stamp the stripe stamp with Aquamarine Ink on white cardstock. Rotate the stamp to create a fun background. Mat with navy cardstock then add flowers to the panel before adding the panel to the card. Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock and punch out. Add to a punched scalloped oval and adhere to the card.

For card #2, use the same stamp set and select a different stamp. Repeat the same process as for card #1, but use Evergreen Ink. Mat the panel with green cardstock then add flowers to the panel before adding the panel to the card. Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock and punch out. Add to a punched scalloped oval and adhere to the card.

Having these supplies still on my craft table allowed me to put together these cards very quickly. And instead of having to put away my supplies, I actually put them to good use.

Christmas Cards with Easy Backgrounds

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with some more Christmas Cards featuring backgrounds created with Ann Butler Designs stamps and inks.

Sometimes you just don’t have the right papers that work with your stamped images. Since I love to create backgrounds, I pulled out stamps and inks and got to work on a couple of Christmas Cards. I repeatedly stamped the stripe stamp on a panel of white using Canyon Ink on one panel and Evergreen Ink on the other panel. Then I used the dot stamp on another panel of white also using Canyon Ink and Evergreen Ink.

Next, I matted the striped panels to use as the base of the cards, then wrapped each with ribbon and twine before adding to the card base.

Next, I cut the dotted panels on an angle to fit each card and inked them with Desert Sand. I matted them with cardstock and added them to the card with foam adhesives.

Finally I colored the images, die cut them, matted them with coordinating cardstock and added them to the card with foam adhesives for dimension. The perfect backgrounds don’t you think?

Faux Stitched Stamped Christmas Cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with some Quick and Easy Faux Stitched Stamped Christmas Cards with Ann Butler Designs. These are fun cards you can make quickly for everyone on your Christmas list.

Supplies:

ColorBox Crafter’s® by Ann Butler – Canyon, Evergreen
ColorBox® Background Basics by Ann Butler – Stitch Stamps
Hero Arts Stamp – sentiment
Spellbinders Dies

Use the Stitch Stamps to create patterns on white cardstock. Alternate the ink colors creating a faux running stitch between each stamp. This is a perfect way to use scraps because you can angle the stamped images any way you want.

Mat the stamped image with coordinating cardstock and add to a simple background. A stamped and embossed sentiment can then, be die cut and added to the card.

This stamped panel was slightly larger and covered more of the card so I didn’t mat it, I just inked the edges. Again a simple sentiment was added to the card.

If you need a lot of cards this year, consider grabbing your scraps and creating some Stitched Christmas Cards with Ann Butler Designs. Not only are they quick and easy to create, they are also pretty.
