Ugly Sweater Christmas Cards

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today with two Ugly Sweater Christmas Cards. Christmas will be here before we know it so, it’s time to finish those cards!

Step 1:

Using one of background stamps, I stamped it on a 4″ square panel using Canyon, Evergreen and Deep Woods Inks.

Step 2:

Using 3 background stamps, I stamped them on a 4″ square panel using Canyon, Evergreen and Deep Woods Inks.

Step 3:

The panels were inked with Desert Sand.

Step 4:

The multi background panel was matted on red cardstock, then added to a green card. Merry Christmas was stamped in Deep Woods Ink, edged with Desert Sand and matted with red cardstock. Three lines were scored along the bottom of the card and Merry Christmas was added with foam adhesives.

Step 5:

The Christmas panel was matted on red cardstock, then added to a green card. A poinsettia was stamped in Canyon Ink and the leaves in Deep Woods Ink, then fussy cut. Three lines were scored along the bottom of the card and the fussy cut poinsettia was added with a brad.

Altered Fall Journal Notebook

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here today and I’ve create an Altered Fall Journal Notebook with Ann Butler Designs.

Step 1:

Add ink and/or reinkers to white cardstock. Spritz with water to allow the colors to run. Cut the panel to fit the notebook.

Step 2:

Adhere the panel to the notebook. Using Canyon Ink, stamp the striped stamp along the top and bottom of the notebook. Using Deep Woods Ink, stamp the Leaves all Over stamp around the notebook.

Step 3:

Stamp and fussy cut 2 pumpkins. Using a water brush, paint the pumpkins with Tangelo, Evergreen, Deep Woods, Desert Sand and Sunshine Inks.

Step 4:

Die cut the word “Fall” from white cardstock. Using the Leaves all Over” stamp, stamp all over the word in Tangelo, Sunshine and Evergreen Inks.

Step 5:

Mat the pumpkins and Fall with cardstock. Ink a doily with Deep Woods Ink and adhere to the notebook. Adhere Fall on top of the doily with foam adhesives. Attach the pumpkins to the bottom of the notebook. Stamp Blessings in Deep Woods Ink and add on top of the pumpkins with foam adhesives.

Step 6:

Using the cut off piece from the spritzed panel, cut 2 strips of cardstock, each 1/2″ wide. Ink the edges and adhere the strips to the edge of the notebook.

Your Altered Fall Journal Notebook with Ann Butler Designs is now ready to use.

Inked and Stamped Fall Acorn Banner

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today getting ready for Fall with a Inked and Stamped Fall Acorn Banner.

I created an Inked and Stamped Fall Acorn Banner using an assortment of Ann Butler’s stamps and inks.

Step 1:

Emboss the acorns with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then use Desert Sand Ink over the embossed acorns for definition.

Step 2:

Emboss the acorn toppers with another Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then use Deep Woods Ink over the embossed acorn toppers.

Step 3:

Die cut 3 concentric circles and stamp with the ColorBox Background Basics by Ann Butler – Basket 1 stamp – on the smaller circles with Deep Woods Ink.

Step 4:

Using Tangelo ink and the Faux Quilting Leaves All Over Square 2″ stamp, repeatedly stamp the design on cream cardstock. Die cut the letters with Cricut or Alphabet dies and Big Shot.

Step 5:

Die cut leaf sprays from cardstock and, while still in the die, ink them with Deep Woods Ink for definition.

Step 6:

Using Tangelo Ink, color the trim to coordinate with the banner. Heat set.

Step 7:

Assemble the banners placing the circles on top of each with foam adhesives. Pop the letters on top of the leaf sprays.

Water Colored Card with Crafter’s Inks

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today, creating a water colored card with Crafter’s Inks by Ann Butler.

Step 1:

Using watercolor paper and a water brush, paint it with Ocean Breeze and Blueberry inks. blending the colors together.

Step 2:

Stamp 2 hot air balloons onto the watercolor paper. Using a water brush, paint the hot air balloons with Aquamarine, Berry, and Ocean Breeze inks. Once dry, fussy cut the hot air balloons.

Step 3:

Stamp clouds on the water colored panel with Blueberry Ink. Mat the panel with black cardstock and attach to the card.

Step 4:

Add the balloons to the card with foam adhesive for dimension.

Step 5:

Stamp a sentiment in Blueberry ink on a scrap of cardstock and then, punch out using an oval punch. Layer with a scalloped punch piece of black cardstock.

Perfect Backgrounds with Ann Butler Designs

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here creating Perfect Backgrounds with Ann Butler Designs products.

Step 1:

Create 5 1/2″ square cards from the cardstock.

Step 2:

Cut the white cardstock into a 5″ square. Ink assorted 1″ Faux Quilting Square stamps with Aquamarine, Ocean Breeze and Blueberry inks. To create the two toned effect, ink several of the stamps with the lighter color of ink first, then add the darker ink on top.

Step 3:

Trim the panel to 4 1/2″ square. Ink the edges with Blueberry Ink. Mat each with 2 layers of cardstock, then wrap with ribbon. Add the stamped panels to the cards with foam adhesives for dimension.

Step 4:

Stamp sentiments using Blueberry Ink. Die cut and lightly ink and then, mat with larger die.

Step 5:

Add the sentiments to card fronts with foam adhesives for dimension.

Hand Stamped Mini Pouches

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with some sweet mini pouches with Ann Butler Designs.

Step 1:

Using a 1″ faux quilting stamp, repeatedly ink it and stamp on the pouch. Be sure to rotate the design while stamping. I found by placing the stamp in the corner of the stamp block, I could get a perfectly lined up image each time.

Step 2:

Repeat with a different stamp and a different ink color on each pouch.

Step 3:

Lightly ink around the edges of each pouch to finish. Heat set.

Step 4:

Fill the pouches with assorted goodies. Personalize each pouch with items you know the recipient will enjoy.

Altered Frame with Ann Butler Designs

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with an altered frame.

A plain wood frame is the perfect starting point for anything you can imagine. I wanted to document a night out with my son and his girlfriend after his college graduation so I decided an altered frame was in order.

Step 1:

I began by gessoing the frame so the Crafter’s Inks would POP.

Step 2:

Using Ann Butler’s Faux Quilting Stamps, 1″ Squares, stamp the first layer with Aquamarine Ink. Stamp a second layer on top of the first layer with Blueberry Ink.

Step 3:

Stamp the second stamp along the inside and outside of the frame. Dab Blueberry Ink around the frame.

Step 4:

For a masculine effect, add metal rings to the corners.

Step 5:

Die cut gears and ink with Blueberry Ink. Adhere them to the lower left corner.

Step 6:

Ink a chipboard arrow with Blueberry Ink and add it to the upper left corner. Place some metal rings on top.

Step 7:

Tie twine around tickets and add to the right bottom corner. Ink some chipboard words and add on top of the tags.

Sweet altered frame, isn’t it?

Stenciled Friendship Card

Hi everyone, Steph here today with a Stenciled Friendship Card.

Step 1:

To create the background I took the Star stencil that I used on another project, flipped it over then wiped a baby wipe over the stencil. This released the ink onto the white cardstock panel, which results in a water color effect, and while it does not look like a star stencil, I do love the result. And instead of cleaning residual ink off the stencil, you clean the stencil by actually creating another project!

Step 2:

Next, I mixed modeling paste with several drops of the Blueberry Reinker. Then I placed the Star Stencil on black cardstock and used the Blueberry modeling paste. I spread the Blueberry molding paste over the stencil. I was not looking for precision so you can see some incomplete stars on the cardstock.

Step 3:

Once dry I matted the black panel with white cardstock to which I had applied Blueberry Ink.

Step 4:

I wrapped the larger panel with blue ribbon then, adhered the panel to the card. I tied twine to the ribbon.

Step 5:

The black panel was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Step 6:

I stamped the phrase with Blueberry Ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. After inking the panel with Blueberry Ink, I matted it with blue cardstock and adhered it to the card.

Stamped Altered Clipboard with Crafter’s Inks

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here with a Stamped Altered Clipboard with Crafter’s Inks by Ann Butler.

This would be a great gift to make for someone, or better yet, make two and keep one for yourself!

Let’s get started Stamped Altered Clipboard with Crafter’s Inks:

Step 1: Begin by painting a clipboard with white paint.

Step 2: Use Blueberry Ink to stamp the Dots across the bottom plank.

Step 3: Use Aquamarine Ink to Stamp the Strips across the next panel. Repeat on the remaining planks.

Step 4: Add grey paint around the planks for more definition.

Step 5: Use Blueberry Ink to add color to the chipboard elements.

Step 6: Create a pen holder by scoring some cardstock and assembling it into a square.

Step 7: Place the chipboard elements around the panel. Adhere the Pen holder in the right corner. Attach another chipboard element on the pen holder.

Step 8: Cut cardstock to fit under the clip.

There you have it…Quick and Easy!

How to Create a Faux Metal Effect with Crafter’s Inks

Hi everyone Steph Ackerman here to show you How to Create a Faux Metal Effect with Crafter’s Inks Re-inkers by Ann Butler and Rinea Foiled Paper.

Re-inkers are fun to work with and you can achieve some amazing effects when you combine Crafter’s Inks re-inkers with Rinea Foiled Papers and an embossing folder.

I began by cutting the Rinea Silver/Silver Glossy Foiled Paper into a 5″ square.

Then I placed it within an embossing folder.

Placing drops of re-inkers on a craft mat, I used a paintbrush to pick up the colors and paint them on my embossed panel. I honestly wasn’t too careful about the color placement because I intended to mix them up a bit.

Next, I used a baby wipe to blend and soften the colors. Using too much pressure removes the color, so be sure to wipe lightly.

And the more you use the baby wipe, the lighter the color becomes. Allow 24 hours for the foil to dry or use a heat gun very carefully to speed up the drying process. A word of caution – the foiled paper will crinkle when heated directly, so you need to be careful and not place too much heat on the panel.
